Very frustrating every previous version of developer and data modeler with bundled java has simply installed in minutes. On a faint off chance - like cleaning the windscreen when the car won't start - I installed SQL Developer 4.0.3.16.84 in case the handling was marginally different. I've tried pointing the launcher to d:\oracle\java\jdk1.7.0_45 also d:\oracle\java\jdk1.7.0_45\bin and d:\oracle\java\jdk1.7.0_45\bin\java.exe all to no avail. Users can even run both side-by-side for 6. Java is available on Microsoft Windows in 64 and 32 bit versions, allowing users to get the appropriate version for their system. I've tried editing the SetJavaHome in nf but that hasn't worked either. The Java Platform was designed to allow applications to run on different hardware stacks and operating systems without changes. I had previously installed firstly jre 1.7.0_45 - as indicated on the installation notes page which produced this error message.Īfter reading other peoples troubles I replaced it with the jdk 1.7.0_45 because the run request is for the path to the java JDK home.

On the first run, message "cannot find a java SE sdk at path. I'm installing 4.0.3-853 on windows xp 32 bit.
